The FRIENDS OF DR JOHN MARSH is a committee of the JOHN MARSH HISTORIC
TRUST, INC. All gifts, dues, bequests and donations to the FRIENDS are
tax deductible. The JOHN MARSH HISTORIC TRUST, INC is a non-profit
[501.3.C] organization recognized by the Federal Government and the
State of California. The purpose of the FRIENDS is to build a
nationwide core of history lovers who want to see the preservation of
the of the remarkable history attributed to Dr. Marsh. To preserve that
memory by creating a California State Park on the site where Dr.
Marsh's Stone House still stands including over 3600 acres of his
original Rancho Los Meganos. Both the house and land are owned by the
State of California.
The STONE HOUSE of Dr. Marsh, built in 1856 is in dire danger. As the years rush by the wear and tear of neglect is all too visible on this home which was once called, " the most beautiful farm house in California". The MARSH STONE HOUSE has been designated as an official project of SAVE AMERICA'S TREASURES by the White House. The time to make this the next State Park in California has come, but it will only happen if you and others like you make your wishes known to the Governor and the State Parks Department. Please join us in this very worthy cause.
