The Story of John Marsh and the Big Stone House

If you love history, this is a lecture you won’t want to miss! Discover the incredible story of John Marsh, the first Anglo-American settler in California. His rugged life was filled with adventure, from being captured by Native Americans, to playing a key role in California’s path to statehood, to building a remarkable 7,000-square-foot home right across the street from us.

Public historian Carol A. Jensen will join us on June 18th at 4:00pm in the Mount Diablo Event Center to share the full and fascinating story of John Marsh’s life, from his early days in Massachusetts to his untimely death in Pacheco, California on September 24, 1856.

We hope to see you there!
